Business systems
The tools behind the counter.
Production planning, inventory, dealer onboarding, consignment, promotions and reporting. I build the systems a small company runs on, shaped around how the business already works instead of the other way around.
AngelFire Ammunition · Saint Marys, Kansas
Work for a Kansas ammunition manufacturer
I spent years building the systems behind AngelFire Ammunition. Each entry is a real business problem, what I built for it, and the result. Six of them include a working sample you can try, filled with invented data.

- Production planningA planning tool that shows what every product can still be made from the components left.
- One home for internal toolsOne private hub that links the company's internal apps, with a single login shared across several of them.
- Preorder trackingA dashboard that tracks shelf stock, promised stock and what still needs building.
- Dealer onboardingThe company's own dealer application form, with one confirmed approval that creates the dealer's store account.
- ConsignmentOne app for the whole consignment cycle: sending stock to a dealer, recording sales, marking reports paid and taking returns.
- Inventory countsScheduled shelf counts and box-size conversions, with every change made through the app recorded.
- Back-in-stock alertsA back-in-stock sign-up and waitlist on the company's own email system, replacing a paid outside service.
- Issue reportingAn online report form that opens only after a customer enters a real lot number, feeding a staff tracker.
- Referral programA personal share link for every retail customer, and automatic store credit when a referred customer's first order comes in.
- Social relaunchA tagged photo library and a weekly review board that drafts posts for a person to approve.
- Weekly promotionsA weekly build process that produces every piece of a promotion from one brief, with checks before each file is written.
- Sale pricesSale-price displays for product cards and pages, built so the price shown equals what checkout charges.
- Weekly reportingA pipeline that collects each week's data and computes the week-over-week figures the same way, every time.
- Public lot dataProduction lot records published as a public lot lookup and a ballistics chart.
- Search dataA pipeline that keeps the company's search history in its own database, with a dashboard and a weekly report.
- Search engine dataThe store's structured data rewritten for every product and for the site itself, with false shipping claims removed.
- One brandA second brand wound down in stages and folded into AngelFire.
Email lists
Your own email list, for less
Most of the big-name email services price by the size of your list, so the bill jumps as more customers sign up. I set up an email system you own, where the sending cost follows the emails you actually send, not the size of your list, and comes to far less than the big-name services charge. That means you can reach more customers, more often, for less.
Sign-up forms on your site, your list in your hands, set up properly so your mail is trusted, and looked after by me.
Need a system that fits how you work?
Every job is different, so I don't list prices. Send a short note or call, and we'll have a conversation.
